ROK Child Safety Standards Policy

These standards apply to ROK: Acts of Kindness — the ROK mobile app on Google Play and the App Store — and to everything at rokindness.org. ROK is published by Kindness Worldwide, Inc., a nonprofit organization.

We prohibit child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE)

ROK has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). We explicitly prohibit, on every ROK surface:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind — real, edited, or generated imagery, video, audio, or text that sexualizes a minor.
  • Grooming: befriending or manipulating a child to enable sexual abuse or exploitation, on or off the platform.
  • Sextortion: threatening or blackmailing a child using intimate imagery.
  • Sexual solicitation of a minor, and any predatory or inappropriate sexual interaction directed at a child.
  • The sexualization of minors in any form, including in comments or profiles.
  • Trafficking of a child or advertising a child for sexual purposes.

Any account engaging in this conduct is removed from ROK. This applies to every member, everywhere ROK is available. The full policy follows.

If a child is in danger now

Contact your local emergency number — in the US, call 911. To report child sexual abuse material in the US, contact the NCMEC CyberTipline. If intimate imagery of a minor has been shared online, NCMEC’s Take It Down can help get it removed.

This Child Safety Standards Policy governs user-posted content on websites and mobile apps operated by Kindness Worldwide, Inc. (“ROK,” “we,” “us,” and “our”) that facilitate user-posting functionality (collectively, the “ROK Websites”).

If you believe a child is in immediate danger, call 911 or your local law enforcement agency immediately.

Definitions

“Children” or a “child” as used herein refer to children and minors under the age of 18.

“Submission” refers to any photograph, video asset, audio asset, or other content, information and/or materials posted or otherwise submitted to the ROK Websites, as defined in our Terms of Service.

We Prohibit Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Submissions

We prohibit and have zero tolerance for Submissions that depict or the sexual abuse or exploitation of children under the age of 18, also known as “CSAE” or “CSAM.” This includes, without limitation, Submissions that include content or depict a child under 18 who is engaged in or depicted as being engaged in, explicit sexual activity or that are otherwise sexually explicit. This can also include depictions of content showing sexual harassment, sexual images or other harmful behavior as it relates to children. The imagery may be captured in photos or videos, or consist of computer- or AI-generated imagery or images that have been digitally altered (referred to as “deepfakes”).

When ROK learns that a Submission containing or depicting CSAE / CSAM has been posted on any of the ROK Websites, it will promptly remove the Submission from ROK as soon as possible, and in no event longer than 24 hours after we confirm the Submission constitutes CSAE / CSAM. We will also disable and terminate the account through which any confirmed CSAE / CSAM was posted and report confirmed CSAE / CSAM to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

We take child safety seriously and comply with applicable child safety laws and regulations.

Reporting CSAE / CSAM and Exercising Take It Down Act Rights

If you believe a child is in immediate danger, call 911 or your local law enforcement agency immediately.

ROK wants to make it easy for you to report Submissions you suspect may constitute CSAE / CSAM. We provide several ways to report such Submissions:

On our mobile application or app, use our in-app reporting mechanism. Go to the image you want to report and tap ••• options in the top or bottom of the Submission. Press Report and follow directions.

For Submissions appearing on the ROK Websites other than an app, please immediately notify us by email at ROK@KindnessWorldwide.org and put "Child Safety" in the subject line. Please provide us with sufficient information to identify the Submission(s) at issue, such as the date the Submission was posted and the user name of the person posting. Never send pictures of the actual images that are the subject of the report.

You can report Submissions that reflect depictions of you or others.

How reporting works in the app

Every post, comment, and reply in the ROK app carries a ••• menu with a Report option — an in-app mechanism any member can use, with a dedicated child-safety reason. Posts reported for child safety are removed from public view immediately, before human review. Every report — on a post, comment, or reply — is reviewed by our team, usually within 24 hours, and repeat or severe violations end in permanent account removal. Members can also block anyone via the same menu.

When we obtain actual knowledge of apparent CSAM, we remove it, terminate the accounts involved, and preserve and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or the appropriate authorities, as required by law. We comply with all applicable child safety laws and regulations in the regions where ROK operates, and we cooperate with law enforcement investigations into harm against children.
